Salon booking software with 0% commission.
Your clients, your chair, your skill. A booking platform should not take a slice of the appointment for showing a client a calendar. Here is what commission really costs, and what a flat fee looks like instead.
- 0% booking commission

The short answer
Is there salon booking software with no commission?
Yes. Some salon booking software charges a flat monthly fee and takes no commission on any booking, new client or repeat. ResNeo is one: plans start at £20 a month, there is 0% booking commission and no per-booking fee, and deposits go straight to your own Stripe account without ResNeo taking a cut. You still pay your card processor's standard fees on card payments, as you would with any software. Platforms such as Fresha, Booksy and Treatwell charge a one-off commission of 20% to 35% when their marketplace brings you a new client.
What “commission” means in salon software
When salon owners talk about booking commission, they almost always mean one thing: a marketplace fee. A platform runs a consumer app where clients browse salons. When a client finds you there and books for the first time, the platform takes a percentage of that booking as a finder’s fee. It is charged on top of your monthly subscription, not instead of it.
The fee is usually one-off per client, and repeat bookings are often free. That sounds modest until you look at the percentages, the minimums, and how often a “new” client is someone who already knew your name.
What the big platforms charge on a new client
Each platform’s own published rate, with its minimum applied, on three typical first bookings. Checked on .
| Platform | Published rate | On a £15 booking | On a £60 booking | On a £120 booking |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fresha | 20%, minimum £4A new client's first booking through the Fresha marketplace | £4 | £12 | £24 |
| Booksy | 30%, minimum £5A new client's first visit through Boost, Booksy's optional promotion feature | £5 | £18 | £36 |
| Treatwell | 35%A new client's first booking through the Treatwell marketplace | £5.25 | £21 | £42 |
| ResNeo | 0%, new clients and repeats | £0 | £0 | £0 |
Subscriptions are charged separately by every platform and are not included above. Card processing fees are not included for anyone, ResNeo included. Rates and terms change, so check each platform’s own page before you decide. For a full monthly comparison with your own numbers, use the booking software price calculator.
Why commission adds up faster than you expect
A £12 or £21 fee on one colour appointment does not sound like much. Three things make it bigger.
- It is charged on the booking, not your profit. A third of a first visit can be most of what that appointment makes you once products, rent and your time are paid for.
- “New” is the platform’s word, not yours. A client who saw your work on Instagram, then searched for you in a marketplace app and booked there, can count as new. Each platform has its own rules for who counts, so read them before you sign up.
- It never stops. Every month brings new clients, so every month brings a commission bill. For a salon with several chairs, it multiplies by every chair.
Studios and clinics face a version of the same thing, with commission layered on a per-location subscription. Our guide to what subscription plus commission platforms actually cost walks through how the two layers work.
What 0% commission means on ResNeo
- One flat monthly fee, from £20, whatever your booking volume
- No commission on any booking, whether the client is new or has been coming for years
- No per-booking fee, for you or for your client
- No cut of your deposits or payments: they go straight to your own Stripe account, and ResNeo does not hold booking money
- A free listing on the ResNeo marketplace, with no commission on bookings it brings you
- Every feature on every plan, so no add-on fees for reminders, deposits or client records
The fees that do not go away
Commission-free does not mean free of every fee, and you should be wary of anyone who says it does.
If clients pay by card online, a card processor handles the payment and charges for it. On ResNeo that is Stripe, and its published rate for standard UK cards is 1.5% + 20p. That fee goes to Stripe, not to ResNeo, and you would pay a processing fee with any booking software that takes cards. What ResNeo does not do is add a percentage of its own on top. On ResNeo, texts beyond your plan’s monthly allowance are 6p each. That is the full list.
When paying commission can make sense
To be fair to the marketplaces: if you are brand new, with no following and an empty diary, a marketplace that genuinely puts you in front of clients you could never reach may be worth its fee on those first bookings.
The sums change once your diary is mostly regulars and people who already know your name. Then commission is a charge on clients you found yourself. That is when a flat fee and your own booking link usually work out cheaper.

Running a salon with chair renters?
Commission hurts most when every chair is its own business. On ResNeo, each renter pays a flat fee for their own account, takes their own payments, and pays no commission, while the salon keeps one booking page for everyone. Read how chair rental salon software works, and how separate payments keep every renter’s money apart. Working on your own? See booking software for self-employed stylists.
How we checked these figures
Every competitor figure on this page is that platform’s own published rate, read from its pricing page on 7 October 2026. The worked examples are simple arithmetic on those rates with the published minimum applied. We have left out any platform whose fee we could not find stated on its own site. If you spot a figure that has changed, tell us and we will correct it.
Commission-free salon booking software, answered.
Is there salon booking software with no commission?
Yes. ResNeo charges a flat monthly fee from £20 and takes 0% commission on every booking, whether the client is new or a regular. There is no per-booking fee either. Standard payment provider fees may apply.
What commission does Fresha charge?
Fresha publishes a one-time commission of 20% on a new client's first booking through its marketplace, with a minimum of £4 per client. Its subscription is charged on top. Check Fresha's own pricing page for the current figures.
Does Booksy take commission?
Only through Boost, an optional feature that promotes you to new clients. Booksy publishes a one-time fee of 30% of a Boost client's first visit, with a £5 minimum, on top of its monthly subscription.
How much commission does Treatwell take?
Treatwell publishes a 35% commission on the first booking made by a new client it brings you from its marketplace, and 0% on repeat bookings. Check Treatwell's partner pricing page for the current terms.
Does ResNeo take a cut of deposits or payments?
No. Deposits and payments go straight to your own Stripe account and pay out to your bank. ResNeo adds no fee to them and does not hold booking money. Stripe charges its own standard processing fee on card payments.
Are there any fees at all with commission-free booking software?
Yes, two kinds. Your card processor charges for card payments: Stripe's published rate for standard UK cards is 1.5% + 20p. And on ResNeo, texts beyond your plan's monthly allowance are 6p each. Neither is a commission on your bookings.
Why do some booking platforms charge commission?
Commission pays for the marketplace: the app where clients browse and discover salons. The platform charges you for the new clients it says it found for you. If a marketplace genuinely brings clients you would never reach yourself, that can be worth paying for. If most of your clients already know you, it is money spent on clients you already had.
How do I get new clients without a commission marketplace?
Share your own booking link on Instagram, Google and your website, so clients who find you there book you directly. Every ResNeo business also gets a free listing on the ResNeo marketplace, where local clients can find and book you, with no commission on those bookings.
